deep democracy

the problem with "democracy" is that it can often produce censorship by the majority, and people are keen to be with the crowd, to be normal, acceptable. This often produces aberrant groupthink, people self-censoring & censoring others, virtual reality gamesmanship & pyramid riding.

Democracy doesn't mean mob rule, it means discourse within an open forum leading to some consensus which reflects the greater reality.

The value of media is basically in the impression. Real person, real ideas. Stuff that people will talk about.

The value of that discourse can be zero. Or it can be a matter of life or death, more valuable than any commodity. The value in debate is a subject *of* debate.
